Choose Your Own Adventure Brings Canonized Alien Worlds Lore to Discord

Alien Worlds lore continues to inspire fun releases, and the latest example is Choose Your Own Adventure, a unique Discord game powered by Arkhivist.

Designed to create sustained replay value through rotating adventures and rewards, Choose Your Own Adventure invites Explorers to step directly into branching, text and image-driven adventures inspired by Alien Worlds mythology.

“Played via a Discord bot, CYOA involves an interactive narrative where the player’s choices determine the plot, direction, and outcome of a story scenario,” explains Lore Master Lalothen, who helped develop the game.

“The story can follow multiple paths based on the choices that the player – framed as the protagonist – makes throughout, with each one offering the potential for unique interactions, rewards, and story outcomes.”

“We wanted a fun way to rapidly engage with new lore as it was canonized,” adds Dacoco CMO Kevin Rose. “Building games takes a while; this is faster.”

With its choice-based branching paths, dynamic reward mechanics, and faithfulness to Alien Worlds lore, Choose Your Own Adventure is another way to explore the metaverse, building on the work of numerous spinoff games that also leverage the core mythology.

Choose Your Own Adventure is fully integrated with WAX wallets, enabling players to earn rewards for completing adventure paths, unlock NFT drops based on in-story decisions, and access certain adventures based on their ownership of specific NFTs.

“The game allows storytelling to be more interactive and immersive, with players feeling like active participants in the story as it unfolds based on their choices, rather than merely passive readers,” explains Lalothen.

“It also creates the opportunity for members of the community to, in the long run, write their own branching stories to be submitted for inclusion into the system
