FGL Games’ Boss Talks Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing Launch

A thrilling new chapter in the Outlaw Troopers universe has arrived, with the launch of a fast-paced, free-to-play racing game set in Alien Worlds.

Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing is a slot-based game that challenges players to pilot a drone, compete for leaderboard positions, and put their flying skills (and strategy) to the test.

To commemorate the game’s launch (June 8), a tournament is offering a bounty of 200,000 OLT (Outlaw Troopers Token) in rewards. We sat down with FGL Games’ Roger Bankus to discuss the finer points of the new racing game.

Why Drone Racing?

“We wanted to create something fast-paced, visually exciting, and firmly rooted in the science-fiction atmosphere of Alien Worlds,” explains Roger.

“While Outlaw Troopers focuses on strategy, fleet building, and tactical decision-making, we felt there was room in the universe for a game that emphasized quick reflexes and adrenaline-fuelled action.”

By that metric, Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing certainly delivers: it’s a dizzying blend of precision flying, tactical combat, and strategic loadouts. Players hop into anti-gravity drones and explore treacherous realms of the Alien Worlds universe, evading hazards and outmanoeuvring rivals as they go.

“Drone Racing gives players a completely different way to experience the Outlaw Troopers universe,” adds Roger. “Instead of commanding fleets and planning battles, you jump into the cockpit of a futuristic racing drone and compete to post the fastest times.

“The colorful tracks, unique drone designs, and high-speed gameplay make it an accessible entry point for new players while still feeling connected to the broader Outlaw Troopers ecosystem.”

Compete for 200,000 OLT in Launch Tournament!

To celebrate the launch, FGL has organised a major tournament running from June 8 to June 11.

“The goal of the tournament is to introduce players to the game, gather community feedback, and help us fine-tune the experience for future competitions,” says Roger.

Running across three consecutive 24-hour periods, from June 8 through June 11, this tournament will see players race as many times as their available tickets allow each day, striving to post the fastest possible times on the leaderboard.

With both daily and overall leaderboards tracking the results, racers will compete for a share of 200,000 OLT.

“Getting started is straightforward,” Roger assures. “Players need a faces.worlds NFT to unlock their available drones and level.worlds NFTs to provide race tickets. Once equipped, they can jump onto the track, compete for leaderboard positions, and help shape the future of Drone Racing through their participation and feedback.

“We’re excited to see how players approach the tracks and what strategies emerge once the competition begins.”

How the Game Works

The premise of Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing is simple: players select from a roster of unique racing drones, each with distinct performance characteristics and special abilities. Gameplay revolves around navigating perilous obstacle courses while collecting power-ups and racing against the clock.

“Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing is deeply connected to Alien Worlds NFTs while remaining simple and easy to understand,” Roger explains.

“Drones available to players are determined by the rarity of their best NFT from the faces.worlds schema. Higher-rarity NFTs unlock access to more advanced drones, giving collectors additional options when selecting their racer.”

Once you’re on the track, gameplay is easy to pick up but difficult to master. Success depends on the number of power-ups you can collect along the way, which provide temporary boosts such as increased speed, enhanced manoeuvrability, protective shields, or other advantages that help you shave precious seconds off your run.

Mastering the track layouts is a must, as is choosing the right racing line and making smart use of power-ups at critical moments.

Deep Integration with Alien Worlds

Naturally, the new game is tightly connected to the Alien Worlds ecosystem.

“Your NFTs determine which drones you can access and how many race entries you receive each day, creating a meaningful connection between the Alien Worlds ecosystem and the racing experience,” says Roger.

“One of our goals was accessibility; we wanted to appeal to both casual and competitive players. The game runs directly in a web browser and can be played on both desktop and mobile, making it easy for players to join from almost anywhere.

“Whether you’re looking for a quick race during a break, or you’re determined to climb to the top of the leaderboard, there’s something here for you.”

What’s Next?

As with other projects anchored to the Alien Worlds Metaverse, there is the possibility of further events aimed at incentivizing members of the community. “We will work with the Alien Worlds team to set up exciting new tournaments,” says Roger.

By successfully bridging casual arcade fun with clever NFT integration, Roger and his team have designed a game likely to appeal to OG Alien Worlds explorers as well as casual gamers.

“We’re excited to finally put Drone Racing into players’ hands and see what the community can do with it,” says Roger. “Every new game develops its own surprising strategies and standout competitors, and we’re looking forward to discovering who emerges as the fastest pilot in Alien Worlds.

“Most importantly, we hope players have fun. It’s about competition but also bringing the community together, testing something new, and building the foundation for the future. We’ll see you on the starting line, and may the fastest drone win!”
