We’re thrilled to share the latest highlights and outline what lies ahead for the Alien Worlds metaverse. Galactic Hubs is committed to propelling our community forward through a blend of incentives, rewards, and open-source development. Our focus this quarter has been on creating a dynamic, game-friendly environment that fosters sustainability, innovation, and engagement. Our mission remains steadfast: to jump-start exciting projects so that they can one day become long-term contributors to the Alien Worlds metaverse.
Empowering Developers and Players
Our new support system allocates 20,000 Trilium every 14 days to active projects listed in the Alien Worlds Arena. This initiative is designed to attract talented game studios and developers and provide them with predictable sustainability as they build out their creations. This initiative not only sustains ongoing projects but also incentivizes developers to continue improving their games.
We’re thrilled to roll out Tournament Smart Contracts, a major advancement in the Alien Worlds ecosystem. These smart contracts enable the efficient and transparent distribution of Trilium directly to players participating in Alien Worlds community game tournaments. This not only boosts player engagement but also creates more opportunities for free-to-play game studios to monetize their games. By making the reward system more transparent and streamlined, we hope to attract more players to participate in tournaments, thus increasing overall engagement and activity within the Alien Worlds metaverse.
At Alien Worlds, open-source is a key pillar for the longevity and success of our metaverse. We’ve seen this come to life through the recently completed Unity SDK for mobile, developed by Double Coconut, the creators of Milky Way Miner. This Unity SDK is a significant contribution to the entire WAX ecosystem, allowing any developer to provide a better user experience for mobile players by supporting in-game transactions of NFTs and fungible tokens. Open-source initiatives like this are important because they democratize access to powerful tools, fostering innovation and improvement of the Alien Worlds metaverse.
Decentralizing game development is vital for building a thriving metaverse, and supporting community-built games is a key part of this effort. A great example is Mission Control. Earlier this year, they introduced a Mining UI, marking the first time mining could occur outside the official Alien Worlds interface. Recently, they launched the Tool Loaning feature, which allows players to loan out unused tools for others to use. This not only opens up new opportunities for players but also supports those who love mining but lack access to rare tools. This feature was highly demanded by the community and, with the backing of Galactic Hubs, it now provides an efficient way for players to loan and use tools.

Upcoming Releases
Starblind Comic: Issue One
Following the success of Issue Zero, Starblind Comic: Issue One is set to release soon. The Starblind crew faces new threats in the Grimstone prison mining colony on Magor. This issue will dive deeper into the characters’ backstories and the overarching plot, featuring an arena where prisoners can earn their freedom by defeating a champion. With one of the largest pockets of Trilium ever discovered at stake, our heroes must navigate treacherous challenges to reach it before the Megacorps.
Milky Way Miner’s Revamp
Milky Way Miner has been revamped to incorporate new lore elements, including Khaured mining bosses and advanced mining vessels. The game now features a backend tournament system, allowing individuals, planets, or groups to compete for weekly sponsorships. A leaderboard displays the largest sponsors, with the top sponsor automatically chosen each week. Additionally, the game will soon be available on mobile app stores, expanding its reach and accessibility.
Mercenary Battlegrounds
Mercenary Battlegrounds, a strategy game that combines tower defence and real-time strategy, is progressing rapidly. Currently, the game is undergoing internal testing and finalizing the development of its 3D models. Set in a fantasy world, players must strategically place towers and summon powerful heroes to defend their base against waves of enemies. With support from the Galactic Hubs, the game integrates Alien Worlds NFTs, unlocking specialized units such as the Grey Peacemaker, Reptiloid and Nordic Warrior . Stay tuned as they prepare to open public Beta testing soon!
