Maximizing your mining has gotten easier, with the arrival of ten new NFT tools in the Alien Worlds Outpost. The Series Two NFTs, which comprise eight Common, one Rare and one Legendary tool, enable miners to diversify their build or pursue a fresh strategy, whether their ultimate objective is to procure Trilium (TLM), source NFT assets, or acquire a healthy blend of both.
The Evolution of Mining in Alien Worlds
Much has changed in the mining community since Alien Worlds first exploded onto the blockchain gaming scene. As well as the emergence of sleek new tools, we’ve seen the introduction of NFT shining which allows Explorers to parlay NFTs and Trilium into a better class of NFT – all the way from Stone, through Gold and Stardust, right up to Antimatter. With rarer shines, miners benefit from improved metrics for their tools including reduced charge time, improved TLM and NFT Luck scores, and in some cases, a higher Proof of Work score.
Another major development has been the formation of the Miners Union, a collective whose members leverage NFT points to influence weekly Syndicate elections. Since NFT points can only be accrued from mining, the Union’s founders pulled off a masterstroke when they effectively turned these points into a currency for hard-working miners. The move gave miners a voice.
Finally, we recently saw Mining Leaderboards integrated into the UI, making it possible to scan mining results across all planets in Alien Worlds using eight comprehensive metrics such as TLM mined (by day, week or month), NFT points earned, and average rig charge time. The Leaderboards offer a great way to learn from other miners’ strategies and monitor your own progress against a crowded field.
Into this milieu comes a tranche of ten new miner-focused tools, many of them related to existing ones: while Shiny Explosive is an upgrade of Basic Explosive, Extreme Extractor is an advanced version of Power Extractor and Exo Claws is an iteration of Exogloves. The much-loved Draxos Axe tool has also welcomed a sibling into the fold in the shape of the Draxos Hammer. The pick of the bunch, at least in terms of stats, is the Legendary tool known as Ether Converter, a long-charging but mighty piece of equipment boasting 42 Trilium and 28 NFT power for its standard Stone shine.
A comprehensive breakdown of the attributes of each Series Two NFT is given in our announcement article, and they have also been incorporated into our NFT guide. As things stand, there are two Mythical tools, five Legendary, six Epic, eight Rare, fourteen Common, and three Abundant.
Given the number of planets, terrains, tools and shines, the options for creating an impactful build are virtually endless.
Mastering the Minersverse
How will the introduction of Series Two tools affect your mining operations? Is it time to retire your Infused Extractor for a Plasmatic model, or to go full Draxos by adding a Hammer to your twin Axes? The diversity of tools available from the NFT Outpost will likely inspire a raft of rig changes and the pursuit of new mining strategies across Eyeke, Kavian, Magor, Naron, Neri and Veles.
Naturally, each of the new tools can be shined by combining four such tools plus the requisite amount of Trilium to acquire a better-quality NFT. You’ll just need to make sure you’ve stockpiled enough NFT points to afford four identical new tools from the Outpost.
The jewel in the Series Two crown is, of course, an Antimatter edition of the Ether Convertor, of which only 16 could exist. On the whole though, the new tools represent the evolution of mining on Alien Worlds. Not only do they look cooler than their predecessors but they expand the options available to Explorers seeking rewards.
Of course, the Genesis NFTs remain just as powerful as they always were: the O.G. tools have not been trumped by the incoming iterations. Alien Worlds is a non-linear ecosystem where old items aren’t replaced, they are augmented and complemented by the newer editions. The beauty of blockchain is that NFTs are forever.
