Union DAOs Gain Greater Control Over Mining Rewards

Decentralization in Alien Worlds continues to expand. A new update has increased the percentage of mining rewards that Union DAO custodians can choose to allocate from 10% to 25%, giving players even more influence over how the Metaverse evolves.

Union DAOs now have the ability to direct up to a quarter of their planet’s mining reward pool (DTAP) toward initiatives that strengthen the ecosystem. This added flexibility allows custodians to use rewards in new ways, such as supporting community-built games through development funding or in-game player rewards.

Advancing Player Governance

Alongside this update, a new governance feature allows DAOs to adjust their internal governance settings through two new multi-signature (MSIG) proposal types.

  • DAOs can now modify the number of active custodians, the number of allowable votes per voter, and the transaction approval threshold. These settings are linked and therefore bundled together within a single proposal type.

  • DAOs can now modify the length of their election periods.

Empowering Community Creation

Alien Worlds continues to demonstrate what decentralized governance looks like in practice. By expanding control over mining rewards and other governance tools, Union DAOs can better help community developers and custodians motivate players, grow participation, and strengthen the ecosystem through meaningful incentives.

This update is more than a gameplay change. It represents a deeper commitment to decentralization, where the power to build, reward, and inspire belongs to the players who make Alien Worlds thrive.
