Steps to Become a Union DAO Custodian

Agree to Member Terms:

Visit the ‘Governance’ section under ‘Arena', click ‘Explore’ for the planet you want to sign up as a candidate, and select ‘Union DAO.’ Similar to the Syndicate system, those wishing to become a custodian must first read and agree to the member terms. This ensures that all candidates understand their role and responsibilities within the Union DAO structure.

Verify Your Identity:

Prospective custodians need to go through an identity verification process, including providing identification through the Union DAO UI. This step is crucial to maintaining transparency and trust within the system. To verify, visit here.

Stake 5,000 Trilium:

Once verified, candidates must stake 5,000 Trilium to qualify as a custodian candidate. This stake demonstrates your commitment to the role and participation in the governance of the Union DAOs.

Be Contactable by Workers:

Union DAO custodians must be contactable by individuals, known as "workers," who are seeking to submit proposals. It is imperative that custodians provide their contact information—whether via Discord, Telegram, or other communication platforms—so that workers can reach out for feedback and guidance on their ideas. This direct communication helps build interest and ensures transparency in the proposal process.

Participate in Weekly Elections:

Union DAO elections take place weekly. The five candidates who receive the most votes on each of the six Union DAOs will serve as custodians for the following week. Each planet in the Union DAO system has its own governance token:

• EYEUNN for Eyeke
• VELUNN for Veles
• KAVUNN for Kavian
• MAGUNN for Magor
• NERUNN for Neri
• NARUNN for Naron

How to Vote in Union DAO Elections

Stake Trilium on Your Chosen Planet:

In the UI, select the ‘Stake Trilium in [Planet Name]’ section corresponding to your desired Union DAO. Staking Trilium grants you the ability to vote for custodians on that planet.

After staking Trilium, click the 'Add Vote Power' button in the same UI section. Decide how much of your staked tokens you want to allocate toward voting power. Vote for Candidates:

Browse through the candidates listed for the Union DAO on your chosen planet. You can vote for up to two candidates per election. Your votes will help determine who becomes a custodian for the week.
